As Butchery Buyer, you are responsible for purchasing, promotional and product maintenance within the butcher category. This includes financial performance while working with inbound supply and demand teams to have continuous supply of product to our store network.  Working with store operations the objective is to have the right products ranged in the right stores with corrects stock levels to fulfil consumer demand.  Responsibilities  Sourcing product  Products that fit the business  Sound quality  Value for money  In line with sourcing policy  Local where possible  Diverse selections that are more market than supermarket  Build new categories, bring new products to market  Supplier   Range reviews / range rationalisation  Commercial negotiations (daily)   Inventory control  OOS protection  Product & system maintenance  Promotional programmes  Source new supply and revitalise range  Pricing  Set pricing in line with category margin requirements   Ongoing competitive price reviews  Ongoing store price maintenance  Understanding of geographic locations to optimise price points  Communication with stakeholder   Regular communication with store teams   Daily/Weekly Price maintenance  Liaising with warehouse for stock related issues  Regular communication with vendors  Internal communication with extended protein team and butcher operations team  Communicating new products / categories  Operations   Regular Store visits  Education of store teams   Responding to store inquiries  Work with Senior store managers and Area managers daily  Promotional planning  Set weekly promotional plans  Work with others for cross promotion opportunities  Promotional ordering  Ongoing competition checks  Sustainable Sourcing   Proper Meat branded products   Develop packaging guidelines for best sustainable outcomes in line with shopper expectation and commercial business goals  Skills Required  Minimum 5 years’ experience in retails buying or a similar role   A passion for food  Sound understanding of supply & demand forecasting  Strong written and verbal communication skills  Attention to detail  Enable to work within a fast-passed environment  Strong decision-making skills  Alignment to our company values
