Our Little Mountain Aquatic Centre is part of our community hub, which boasts the following state-of-the-art swim facilities and amazing opportunities:

  • Learn to Swim Lessons in our 7.5m heated pool
  • Lap Swimming in our heated outdoor 25m pool
  • Squad Sessions, both Child and Adult, and aqua aerobics
  • Next to our One Table Cafe

About the role

The Swim Instructor is responsible for delivering aquatic education to students and supporting them as they learn. One of your biggest priorities will be facilitating swim programs for various skill levels that will positively benefit the health, fitness and well-being of our Aquatic Centre clients. We have both casual and full time opportunities available.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing and grading swimmer ability;
  • Conducting learn to swim lessons according to the set program;
  • Setting up, packing up and maintain swimming equipment required for lessons;
  • Conducting regular assessments of the pool and pool surrounds to ensure a safe environment;
  • Maintaining attendance records and monitor student progress to evaluate the program;
  • Liaising with other instructors, parents and students to improve service delivery;
  • Assisting to develop new and maintain existing aquatic programs;
  • General cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment.

About you

You are a highly motivated and confident swim instructor with a passion for teaching and supporting students. You have excellent communication and customer service skills that allow you to be patient and understanding. It is important to bring a can-do attitude and pro-active approach to the role that will enable you to be efficient and reliable.

Your experience and qualifications for this role include:

  • Strong communication skills with an ability to inspire others;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate;
  • Current AUSTSWIM (or equivalent) Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification (additional accreditations desirable) - highly regarded, though not required as we offer assistance in obtaining this qualification;
  • Current working with children (blue) card or ability to obtain.
