About the RoleWe are looking for caring and responsible Support Workers who reflect the Life Without Barriers values and are passionate about helping others. As a Support Worker, you will actively supporting the individual needs of elderly Australians who access our Community Care services in Bundaberg and surrounding local areas. You will help our clients to continue living independently in their own homes through the provision of domestic assistance, social support and personal care.This is a Casual position with the opportunity to go Permanent Part Time after three months of employment. Flexible hours available that can be between school hours or other commitments if required. This consists of light cleaning duties, changing of bed linen, washing/laundryIn-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily livingSocial supports inclusive of support to attend medical appointments, social activities in the local community, building/maintaining social networksPersonal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and well-being (for example, identification of wound care needs, skin integrity, etc)  Skills & ExperienceA current unrestricted drivers licence and a reliable vehicle with minimum 3rd party insuranceCurrent First Aid and CPR Certificate is requiredCertificate III in Aged Care (or similar) is requiredPrior experience working in the community with ageing clients will be highly regardedAbility to develop positive relationships with clients and support their individual care plans as appropriateExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check.To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
