We are searching for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our vibrant team.

In this role, you will carry out maintenance for any plant breakdowns, contribute to weekly/monthly/shutdown plans, and monitor mechanical stock.

The site is a licensed Major Hazard Facility and is managed under a rigorous safety management system, ensuring employees are protected.

This role is a Monday-Friday day shift opportunity, and this is a site-based role in Matraville.

Your skills & experience

  • Minimum completion of Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a maintenance fitter/machinist in a heavy industrial environment (e.g., Chemical, Oil & Gas, Mining etc.)
  • Significant experience in Pipe Fitting and Flange Management.
  • Significant experience in working with Rotating Equipment such as various types of pumps, fans and compressors. This includes bearing installation and mechanical seal replacement and setup. Knowledge of precision installation techniques such as laser alignment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as MEX, SAP, Maximo, etc.
  • Forklift License
  • Experience in leading a work crew.
  • Prior experience in safe systems of work and having a good understanding of the responsibilities of a Permit Recipient
