Due to high demand, we are seeking qualified teachers - from Kindergarten to ATAR - with a passion for education and a special interest in one-on-one home tutoring.

With an opportunity to earn $75-85 per hour *(excluding our initial commission), flexible hours will suit teachers at any stage of their careers.

Subjects and specialised topics

Work with a range of students - from the talented and gifted, to those who are most in need of support - and enjoy the flexibility and rewards of private home tuition.

Subjects and specialised topics include:

  • Early Childhood _: literacy, numeracy, special needs and learning difficulties
  • Primary _: English, HASS, Maths, Science, NAPLAN preparation, special needs and learning difficulties
  • Secondary _: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Biology, Human Biology, essay skills, exam preparation, study skills and more.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule lessons directly with parents
  • Plan and implement learning programs based on the individual needs of students
  • Regularly discuss progress with parents and students
  • Seek advice or help from the Progressive Home Tutors team, if and when you need to

The average rate for tutoring is $75-85 per hour *(excluding our initial commission). There are no fees to register and you will only be charged commission on a per-student basis.

Skills and experience

Applicants should:

  • Have, or be close to completing, a teaching qualification
  • Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Australian state in which you will be tutoring, and, ideally, a Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) registration or equivalent (TRBWA registration or equivalent is desirable, but not essential)
  • Have your own transport and be prepared to travel to students’ homes
  • Be reliable, punctual and organised
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be legally eligible to work in Australia

Experience with one-on-one teaching for special learning needs, or gifted and talented students, will be highly regarded.
