As Assurance Partner you will provide accurate and real-time insights into the management of operational risk and controls across BOQ Group. You will:

  • Assist in leading a wide variety of risk based assurance reviews to deliver the Assurance Plan
  • Scope assurance reviews across the group, engaging key stakeholders
  • Develop testing approaches for controls reviewed
  • Conduct process walkthroughs and sample testing to ensure risks are being appropriately managed in the business in accordance with compliance obligations and internal policies and procedures
  • Prepare reports detailing findings and recommendations from assurance reviews conducted
  • Follow up on actions addressing findings to ensure appropriate actions undertaken

The role will also have a strong focus on advocating and driving a customer centric risk culture by embedding operating and engagement models throughout the business, and forming strong relationships with key internal stakeholders.

This is a Line 2 risk role that reports directly into the Assurance Senior Partner for Retail & Business Bank, and sits within the Assurance team within our Group Risk division. In this role you will partner with and support our Retail & Business Bank divisions at BOQ Group.

About you We’d love if you had a background in assurance, risk management and/ or internal audit, ideally within a banking, financial services or consulting environment. You have experience conducting assurance and/or audit reviews, understand risk and compliance frameworks and have proven ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities at any one time in a constantly changing environment!

You bring energy and passion and are always looking to find solutions for the future. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to work with your team to make sure that your objectives are delivered effectively. You also possess strong stakeholder engagement and management skills with the ability to effectively partner with all levels of the organisation including senior leaders.

Possessing a tertiary qualification/s in Business, Finance, or a related field is ideal, but not mandatory for this role if you have substantial experience in banking instead.
