About the role Reporting into Senior Engineer, the purpose of this role is to provide mining engineering support to Tritton’s mining operations in the development of short and medium-term drill and blast plans, in line with legislative requirements and site policies and procedures. You will play a critical role in an incredibly driven, high-performing and experienced Technical Services team. What this role will see you being a part of: Developing and maintaining drill and blast guidelines and procedures for Tritton’s underground mining operations including procedures for the evacuation of mine operations prior to blasting events. Developing and implementing drill and blast plans and procedures, reviewing stope drilling plans and ring and blast designs to ensure they are to standard and issued on a timely basis. Ensuring that appropriate drill and blast controls are in place for all excavations and drill sites. Reviewing all drill and blast activities, stope reconciliations, maintaining and analysing production statistics for each stope to identify opportunities to improve future production. Assisting with the review of the weekly/monthly schedules to ensure they are consistent with the quarterly, annual and LOM plans. Liaising with the Mine Superintendent and other Technical Services personnel on the safe implementation of drill and blast plans and the achievement of targeted production. Ensuring effective procedures are in place for the safe and controlled receipt, storage and issue of detonators, explosives etc and that these are complied with. Assisting with the development of proposals for the most suitable mining method, taking into account the depth and characteristics of deposits and their surroundings. Visiting underground workings at least once a week to maintain a sound working knowledge, targeting areas and issues that will impact on drill and blast decision making.  Using these visits as an opportunity to communicate with operations on relevant drill and blast issues. Acting as a link between Technical Services and Operations by clearly communicating drill and blast plans and ensuring plans are implemented safely and efficiently. About You: You will bring a will to make a difference and an element of fun to join in our team, in addition you will bring: Tertiary qualification in mining engineering. At least 3-5 years mining engineering experience in an operating mine with a good understanding of the safe application of drill and blast techniques in an underground mining environment. Understanding of NSW mining legislation and guidelines particularly with regard to statutory responsibilities. Advanced computer skills particularly in relation mine design and related software packages (Deswik). Strong understanding of HSE regulatory and best practice requirements. Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills. Capacity and preparedness to relate with employees at all levels and to hold and protect the company position in the face of (sometimes significant) internal and external pressure Capacity and preparedness to work under difficult climatic and physical conditions in remote locations. Ability to schedule and prioritise work effectively. What we offer 8:6 Roster – FIFO (from Brisbane only), DIDO or residential (with fantastic allowances!) Travel allowances 5 Weeks Annual Leave Meals & Accommodation provided by the company OR $15,000 Net Residential Allowance to reside locally 8 Year Mine Life - working direct for the Mine Owner/Operator The Operation Tritton Copper Operations is a long life copper operation located near the towns of Nyngan and Cobar in central New South Wales that commenced production in 2005. One hundred percent owned and operated by Aeris Resources, Tritton forms the cornerstone of Aeris copper production. Tritton comprises an underground mining complex feeding a 1.8 million tonne per annum conventional processing plant. Copper concentrate produced at the operation is railed to the Port of Newcastle for export to customers internationally. The current mine plan for Tritton extends to FY2030.
