Infrastructure Engineering Lead Specialist, RHEL

How will I help? The Infrastructure Engineering Lead is responsible for providing expert services to support and advance Westpac Technology Infrastructure's development, design, and operations and for providing input into the strategic direction. Your responsibilities will include: Acting as a point of escalation within the RHEL Level 3 Team. Providing technical directions on managing the existing RHEL Infrastructure and environments to its optimum, while also addressing risks and exceptions. Assist with input into all new technologies and solutions applicable to the RHEL environment and providing operational sign-off. Helping direct the RHEL L3 team with regular update plans for components of our Infrastructure to address Vulnerabilities and Security Updates. Providing governance of our strategic partners across One Bank Midrange, ensuring capability and delivery is in place to support our RHEL estate. Acting as a customer liaison for all RHEL Workloads across the bank. Taking ownership and helping customers with their queries around RHEL Server performance and troubleshooting. Taking part in a rotating roster for on call support for the RHEL L3 Operations team. Working closely with Information Security to manage and monitor security patching for servers, endpoint security, and OS hardening - clear understanding of ciphers applicable to the RHEL estate. Identifying Automation opportunities across our RHEL Estate and work with Automation and Patterns team to implement as required. Proactively upskilling and identifying emerging technologies which could be adopted into Westpac Automation and enhance our BAU automation or stability of our RHEL systems. What’s in it for you? What do I need? To be set up for success in this role, you will be able to demonstrate: Engineering level experience in deploying and supporting RHEL servers, backup and virtualised technology in a large and complex environment (On-Premises & Cloud).  Strong RHEL troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Deep understanding of OPEN LDAP authentication. Strong knowledge of VMware and Cloud hosting technologies from a support and diagnosis perspective. Expert knowledge of Redhat roles and feature operability: Clustering, DNS, DHCP, DFS, etc. Advanced experience with Bash, Perl scripting for server administration\automation. Strong automation experience and knowledge of industry leading platforms: Ansible (Required) CHEF (Highly Desirable) Terraform (Desirable) Understanding of Splunk and APP Dynamics. Understanding of the DEVOPS Delivery model mindset (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery). Relevant technical certifications such as Red hat CE etc Availability for on-call requirement once in every eight weeks.  What’s it like to work there?
