Cardiac Physiologist

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cardiac Diagnostic team.

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses for the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

About the Cardiology Department : We have 2 full time Educators whose job is to assist with education and training for all staff, there are weekly teaching sessions for staff to attend.

To be successful in this role you must be a fully accredited Cardiac Physiologist trained in Echocardiography.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of principles of cardiac technology and the results generated.
  • Independently perform high quality recordings requiring extensive expertise and use appropriate judgement when acting on the findings for Echocardiogram
  • Assist the Cardiologist with Transoesophageal, Treadmill/Pharmacological stress echocardiograms
  • Continually seeks ways to improve systems and procedures
  • Reflects on practice in line with Austin Health values and applies these when interacting with others
