About the role : The Hills Shire Council is seeking an engaging and motivated individual to join the Rates team in delivering quality services to stakeholders. This position is responsible for the efficient, accurate and effective monitoring and administration of Council’s rates related activities, in line with Council policy and procedures whilst ensuring compliance with rating provision of the Local Government Act.

Duties include :

  • Reconciliation of the Rating System to the Valuer General and Waste Services

  • Accurate and prompt checking and issue of S603 Certificates

  • Process rates related activities, including but not limited to:

  • Notices of Sale

  • Waste Management Charges

  • Direct Debit Requests/Applications

  • Pensioner rebates

  • Cancellation of Levies

  • Levy Supplementary rates & valuation changes

  • Pension Rebates

  • Accurate and prompt processing of Department of Housing payment files & receipts

  • Debt recovery & Investigations.

About you : To be successful in this role you will have :

  1. Degree in Business/Accounting or similar
  2. Undertaking CPA/CA Studies
  3. Driver’s Licence (Class C) - NSW
  4. Greater than 5 years of experience in a similar role in payroll or rates
  5. Moderate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Position details : Casual full-time role, T833, Hourly Rate from S07 $44.20 based on qualifications, expertise, experience and knowledge
