About the Role

This role is responsible for the management of Capral’s new SAT Cube Vertical Powder Coating Line in the NSW RDC at Huntingwood; with full responsibility for the line including customer service outcomes and P&L management.

The new line is the latest in powder coat technology from SAT incorporating new booth design, GEMA coating equipment and a new oven design not previously seen in the Australian market.

This line is critical to Capral’s NSW business including BSG and Industrial Distribution as well as finishing for Capral's manufacturing plants located in Penrith, and Smithfield.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • To provide a world class finishing service to Capral’s customer base.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of the line.
  • Recruit and develop the required personnel to run the line effectively.
  • Ensure the line is certified by Akzo and Dulux for finishing warranty colours.
  • Develop continuous improvement programs targeted at safety, labour productivity, product, and service quality, on time delivery and prioritisation of customer orders.
  • Work closely with the RDC Operations team to ensure unison between feeding the paint line and packing / dispatch work.
  • Provide leadership and strategic guidance to the powder coat operations to achieve agreed targets of lead time, profit, and other key performance initiatives.
  • Contribute as a member of the NSW Distribution Management Team to deliver on Capral’s strategic plans to meet and exceed expectations of stakeholders.

Essential : You will be a self-motivated person who enjoys working in a high-performance culture. To be considered applicants MUST have:

  • Extensive knowledge of powder coating and considerable industry experience running a vertical or horizontal line.
  • Demonstrated understanding of powder coating, customer service and people management.
  • Previous experience in the installation and commissioning of paint lines (desirable).
  • Financial principles such as profit and loss accounts and product costing.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise / manage resources to achieve outcomes within specified budget and timeframes.
  • Operations acumen and the ability to identify and communicate potential issues and opportunities.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to liaise with customers, operations and sales staff.
