Personal Care Worker Central Allocations Unit – Casual Bank IN38-IN39 About the role The Central Allocations Unit is seeking applications from certificate qualified Personal Care Workers to work across Aged Care, Sub-Acute and Acute.  Grampians Health has nine Care Communities (Jack Lonsdale Lodge, James Thomas Court, Eureka Village Hostel, Geoffrey Cutter Centre, WB Messer, PS Hobson, Hailey House, Talbot Place and Bill Crawford Lodge).  Successful applicants will predominantly work in our Care Community setting.  To maintain your position within the Central Allocations Unit, a commitment of four shifts per fortnight is expected. Our casual bank, overseen by the Central Allocations Unit operating seven days a week, utilises an electronic rostering system to match staff with shifts based on their availability, communicated via text or phone call. Applicants are required to submit a copy of their Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) and transcript with their application. If the Assist Clients With Medication Unit has not been completed, candidates must be willing to undertake the Grampians Health Medication Administration Skills Check Certificate. As part of the application process, two referees are necessary: one being the current Manager/Nurse Unit Manager and the other a different manager/supervisor. Newly qualified individuals can provide references from their placement manager/course coordinator and a manager from a current or recent employer. Given the potential for short-notice shifts, candidates must reside in the Ballarat region to be considered for this role. Key Responsibilities Maintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability Assisting residents to meet their needs as defined by them in a variety of Care Community settings Provide resident focused and holistic care under the supervision of the Registered & Enrolled Nurses Accurate documentation of resident care and meeting of health service guidelines Ensure a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff Provide resident focused service in relation to meals / food services Ability to function within a team Participate in annual performance reviews Commitment to ongoing mandatory education Skills and experience Successful completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support (or relevant equivalent) Assist Clients With Medication Unit, desirable but not essential Current HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Handling Practices certificate, or willingness to obtain Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred, but is not essential About Grampians Health Grampians Health provides healthcare to a large region at our campuses based in Ballarat, Dimboola, Edenhope, Horsham and Stawell.  Our mission is to deliver sustainable healthcare tailored to evolving community and workforce needs.
