The roleAs a Data Analyst, you will be required to: work in a team of data analysts to identify and assess evolving trends, emerging risks and systemic misconduct in the financial services and wealth management industries.provide support and guidance for conducting operational data analysis.design and implement performance measurement indicators through collection and analysis of related data.scope, identify, and establish data collections and analysis methodologies to address research questions and business priorities.design and advise on processes to collect, manipulate, clean, and explore data.analyse structured and unstructured data using statistical approaches.communicate analytical findings, including through reports, briefings, presentations, and data visualisation. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be required to: play a senior role in a team of data analysts to identify and assess evolving trends, emerging risks and systemic misconduct in financial services and markets.lead analytics projects from initial brief to implementation, managing stakeholder expectations on timely delivery and usage of solution.design and advise on processes to collect, manipulate, clean, and explore data.scope, identify and establish data collections and analysis methodologies to address research questions and business priorities.analyse structured and unstructured data using exploratory analysis, advanced statistical methods, and data visualisation techniques.design and implement performance measurement indicators through collection and analysis of related data.communicate analytical findings, including through reports, briefings, presentations, and data visualisation.provide expert support and guidance for conducting operational data analysis.mentor and train staff, including managing graduates and junior staff members.develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other agencies.contribute to determining the team's strategy and direction. Please note that roles are available at either EL1 or EL2 classification. EL1 – from $114,351 + 15.4% superannuation: Data Analysts with 5-6 years' experienceEL2 – from $129,540 + 15.4% superannuation: Data Analysts with minimum 6-7 years' experience. You will be asked to indicate the classification that you wish to apply for. About youData Analyst: Relevant tertiary qualifications.Experience working in an analytics role, gained in a corporate, consulting, government or academic environment.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects and take responsibility for outcomes. Demonstrated ability to think about and solve problems, coupled with strong business acumen.Experience presenting information to difference audiences through strong written and verbal communication.Commitment to service orientation, continuous improvement, and data and research quality standards.Experience in applying statistical approaches and experience in a programming language such as R or Python.Experience in data visualisation, including the use of data visualisation packages such as PowerBI. Senior Data Analyst: Relevant tertiary qualification.Substantial experience working in an analytics role, likely to have been gained in a corporate, consulting, government, or academic environment.Technical specialist knowledge which enables you to utilise and apply sophisticated statistical and algorithmic methods for analysis of financial market and financial services data.Ability to think about and solve problems, coupled with strong business acumen.Project and client management skills.Experience in applying statistical or machine learning approaches.Experience in a programming language such as R or Python.Experience in data visualisation, including the use of data visualisation packages such as PowerBI.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts and influence decision-makers.Ability to mentor and manage junior staff.
