An exciting Ongoing opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director, Strategic Planning & Development to join the NSW Telco Authority, a rapidly growing part of Digital.NSW within the Department of Customer Service.

The role leads the Strategic Planning & Development team within the Strategy & Innovation business unit of the NSW Telco Authority You will be an experienced individual and play a key role in leading and managing a diverse and high functioning team in the delivery of strategic programs and initiatives to ensure alignment with the organisation’s priorities and objective. You will demonstrate proficiency in managing multiple small teams and will have a great eye for detail and plenty of team spirit.

You will be joining a friendly, fast-paced, dynamic team comprising of two business case squads and a corporate strategy and prioritisation team that will uplift capability for current and future business case development opportunities. By enabling NSWTA to deliver key business cases that support delivery of the Operational Communications Strategy, this will ensure that the necessary digital portfolio, funding, and priorities are in place to support a world class customer-centric digital government.

In this role you will :

  • Provide expert, strategic advice to senior leaders and other key customers and stakeholders on service improvements, strategic programs, and emerging program issues and risks, to inform evidence-based decision making and drive improved customer outcomes
  • Lead the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of organisational strategic programs and initiatives, identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources to maximise efficiencies and achieve desired outcomes
  • Provide direction and expert advice to customers and stakeholder on strategic initiatives and programs to ensure compliance with all statutory and legal requirements and delivery of required outcomes
  • Manage customer and stakeholder relationships through effective communication, collaboration, negotiation, and issues management to ensure effective engagement throughout strategy development and implementation
  • Oversee, influence and contribute to the corporate strategy, new policy proposals and business cases to ensure they enable delivery of strategic outcomes in line with organisational and government priorities
  • Facilitate workshops and deliver presentations to influence, educate and inform senior leaders and influential stakeholders throughout all stages of strategy development and implementation
  • Maintain awareness of relevant issues, policy obligations, insights, challenges, industry trends and practices and opportunities to identify, pursue, evaluate, recommend, and deliver innovative solutions that optimise outcomes and contribute to best practice in line with organisational and government priorities
