Disability Support Workers - TEAM LEADER

We are seeking casual Disability Support Workers who have experience in supporting participants with high complex behaviour. You will work in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) to provide people with high complex support needs an opportunity to live in an environment that supports and maximises personal growth and independence.  They create opportunities, are champions of connecting their abilities, and inspire partnerships of support that encourage every individual to realise the full potential of their life as human beings. About you To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have demonstrated experience providing support to participants with high complex behaviour and have the following skills and attributes: Key Responsibilities Provide support to participants with high physical and challenging behaviours Provide personal care to persons with disability Maintain all written correspondence and reports up to date within required standards Execute as instructed designated tasks and activities aimed at meeting the clients’ personal needs/community support/empowerment, team objectives and/or program goals. Fulfil designated duties/tasks as instructed by the employer when requested/required. This includes working across all client groups when and if required. Participate in regular team meetings. Carry out duties/activities in a cooperative, respectful and flexible manner. Adhere to the service/facility communication, reporting and participant/program progress practices and procedures. Respond to crisis in accordance with specified guidelines (Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct, Incident Reporting) and seek assistance to situations outside of specified guidelines. Participate in developing and monitoring individual program plans and be accountable for their outcomes. Establish good working relationships and work closely and collaboratively with team members in order to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role. Providing support to colleagues when required. Participate in on-the-job training/site induction when required and/or requested by your manager. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and performance. Establish good working relationships and networks with other community organisations to keep abreast of community activities and initiatives. Work under general guidance from the participant and their family seeking support, within clearly defined guidelines. Mandatory requirement Please note that the successful applicant will be required to hold: NDIS worker screening clearance,  Cert 111 in Disability Services NDIS COVID 19 Certification Proof of Full Vaccination.  NSW Drivers License Working with Children Check You must also have the NDIS Worker Orientation certificate completed and please log in to  https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/ if you haven't obtained the certificate already.
