Through our work, we aim to safeguard the future of rural communities and ensure the prosperity of Australia's agricultural, fisheries and forestry industries.  The Jobs DAFF is recruiting for several Policy/Project/Program Officer roles at the APS6 classification across various branches and divisions, duties will consist of some or all of the following: •  Developing and administering well-researched policy within tight timeframes. •  Contributing to the design, development, implementation and monitoring of policy and program interventions. •  Preparing draft reports, briefing papers, speeches, Ministerial correspondence, and discussion papers for review by executive level employees. •  Resolve moderately complex enquiries from internal and external stakeholders and provide information and advice on behalf of the section. •  Providing significant and detailed reports on program specific issues. •  Project management, including adherence with associated governance conditions. •  Interpreting legislation and identifying issues associated with existing policies and proposed policy options. Note : This recruitment process will be used to fill both ongoing and non-ongoing positions across the department. The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of 18 months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may be used to fill the similar vacancies should they become available. What we are looking for Knowledge and experience You will possess experience in one or more of the following areas:   •  policy development •  program/project development and implementation •  secretariat support, and/or  •  a similar role. Experience in stakeholder relationships that achieve successful outcomes may be an advantage. Note : Should other mandatory qualification and/or requirements be required, the selection panel will notify and discuss with the applicant at the further assessment stage.
