The Opportunity Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the key accountability of the Despatch Supervisor is to ensure coordinated, highly accurate dispatch of large volume customised orders to meet deadlines. Your duties will involve some of the following: Driving the day-to-day operational dispatch readiness of jobs/customer orders. Dealing with internal and external customers to organised transport, distribution, and logistics. Problem solving and issue resolution. Ensuring a high level of safety; overseeing the cleanliness of equipment and bays, overseeing codes of practice, and ensuring that staff and contractors follow relevant procedures. Follow procedures for pallet control, managing inventory, planning, engaging with suppliers and customer to ensure that adequate inventory is available to meet production and delivery requirements. Find opportunities for continuous improvement by regularly reviewing procedures to assisting in to initiate new procedures. Ensuring that all delivery & loads are ready for dispatch, managing the correct packaging, labelling and paperwork completed. Operation of counterbalance forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment as required to prepare loads and ensure timely distribution. SKILLS REQUIRED To be successful in this role you must have: Experience in a similar despatch/dispatch role, perhaps within Consumer Goods, Manufacturing or Engineering Forklift Ticket with experience loading and unloading trucks. Excellent problem-solving & time management skills with a strong attention to detail. Strong commercial decision-making abilities and Leadership skills. Sound understanding of transport logistics, freight, and delivery services. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach. At Visy, our people make us stand out from the crowd.
