About the role :

  • An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Scientist to join our laboratory on a permanent full-time basis.
  • The role will include blood film morphology, transfusion and biochemistry.
  • The position will require you to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
  • Rostered hours will vary to cover the operational hours of a 24-hour laboratory.
  • Preparing specimens for transportation to the laboratory.

We are looking for the following: To be considered for this position, the applicant must have a Science degree, and 1-2 years’ years’ experience in haematology/blood bank would be preferred, but not essential. General computer skills would also be an advantage

  • Appropriately qualified - Degree in Medical Science or recognised equivalent.
  • Eligible for professional membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists.
  • Experience in diagnostic laboratory with Australian industry experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision.
  • An understanding of quality control techniques.
  • Proficient, motivated and highly organised with great attention to detail.
  • Must be able to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis.
