Senior Project Manager - Castlemaine Water Reclamation Plant

It's been 100 years since we began treating the wastewater from sinks, toilets and drains at the Bendigo and Castlemaine Water Reclamation Plants. Fast forward a century, and we have big plans to ensure these critical pieces of infrastructure continue to underpin our community’s health, and support growth and success for the future. To help us, we’re looking for a Project Manager to play an integral role in overseeing the project execution at the Castlemaine Plant with a distinct focus on the construction phase.  This role is vital to the success of the program. This three year fixed-term role will be responsible for managing the construction project while at the same time ensuring the plant continues to operate safely and efficiently. You’ll know how to get the best out of your team, including external contractors and you will have a sound knowledge of local constructions standards and regulations. A snapshot of your day Providing a technical overview of the project’s design, documentation and implementation plan Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation Drive operational excellence by maintaining a focus on safety, high performance and continuous improvement Preparing and assessing of tenders including writing specifications and compiling documentation Independently and effectively manage a broad range of external resources including contractors and consultancies Develop the risk management plan and monitor and control the risks that have been identified Overseeing the project execution including the construction process Ours is a tight-knit team with a great culture. First and foremost, we’re looking for someone who is the right fit. The successful candidate will have five years of proven experience in managing construction projects, along with experience in the management of wastewater and recycled water systems. A tertiary degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a similar field is required. You’ll be excellent communicator, have a strong work ethic, won’t be afraid of a deadline, and will be keen to grow your career in an organisation doing work that matters to its community.
