This exciting position will ensure the City is a leader in delivering a range of high quality place centric projects, from project development through to construction that meet the needs of the Community and the City, by leading and motivating a talented team of Landscape Architects, Project Managers and Project Officers.Key responsibilities include:To effectively lead and coordinate the place and projects team to deliver high quality outcomes that meet the needs of the community and the City.To actively coordinate and manage the Place and Projects team to identify, develop, advocate, and ultimately deliver place centric projects and proposals.To oversee and manage relevant works and projects within the City’s capital program, including master planning, community engagement, consultant management, documentation, procurement, project management and financial management. To be considered for this position, you will need:Qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design or similar field.Strong analytical, conceptual and decision-making skills. Evidence of a portfolio of work that illustrates the full design process inclusive of; defining and development of a brief, feasibility analysis, site analysis, community and stakeholder engagement, development of opinion of costs, concept design, report writing, detailed design and documentation, tender specification writing, contract administration.Excellent team coordination and leadership skills with demonstrated experience in the supervision and management of staff.You will have detailed knowledge of standards and regulations required to implement landscape and public projects and have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in coordinating, leading and developing teams.The City of Fremantle promotes a workplace that actively seeks to include, welcome and value unique contributions of all people.
