Position DetailsAbout usThe Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services. About the roleA unique opportunity to provide support and assistance in the newly formed CAV Rental Taskforce. The P&O Officer supports the Taskforce Lead to develop and lead multi-disciplinary, integrated compliance project/s aimed at responding to Consumer Affairs Victoria's (CAV's) regulatory priorities, which typically elude standard or traditional approaches.This role provides important support and assistance for the planning, preparation and commencement of the Renting Taskforce, including liaison and coordination across the organisation and with key stakeholders. The role will assist the Taskforce Lead and team members to develop different approaches to regulation and compliance specific to Victoria's Residential Tenancies Act. About youTo be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate: Organise and prioritise a variety of tasks including being the first point of contact on the Taskforce Lead's behalf with CAV staff, managers, other Departments and staff, taking follow-up action as required.Coordinate Branch reporting requirements including the capture and reporting of performance measures.Contribute to the coordination of daily activities, process improvements and other branch activities.Assist in research and analysis activities, and prepare discussion papers, briefs, reports and presentations as required.Provide administrative and operational support and assistance to staff in the branch, including for example, handling confidential HR and financial records, arranging meetings and workshops, preparing general correspondence on a range of issues. Technical expertise: Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office , TRIM and ability to learn other software packages.
