Employment Type : Permanent Full Time Position Classification : Drug & Alcohol Clinician Remuneration : $108,595 - $112,114 Hours Per Week : 38 Requisition ID : REQ472554 Applications Close: 24 April 2024 What you'll be doing The MNCLHD In reach / Outreach / Brief Intervention (IOBI) is multidisciplinary team providing brief intervention for clients accessing Alcohol and Other Drugs services and will also provide in reach and outreach services, working across the community with a focus on young clients. The In-Reach component will bring the team's community expertise into the hospital care setting. The outreach component will work with individuals with ongoing AOD issues who have had experiences that have impacted them to engage with services.  This role provides an effective and efficient Social Work/Counselling/Psychologist service that addresses the psychosocial aspects of care for young people receiving substance use treatment including proving support, education and resources as required. As a team member you will also actively participate and contribute to the continued development of the clinical role in the AOD service utilising the principles of Trauma Informed Care. This role may work across 2 locations being Port Macquarie and Kempsey. All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course).   New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) immunisation history statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. AN ELIGIBILITY LIST FROM THIS RECRUITMENT ACTIVITY MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE VACANCIES Qualifications eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or qualifications eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; or a bachelor's degree in counselling or related field, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Demonstrated current clinical knowledge, skills and ability to effectively assess, provide counselling and formulate treatment plans utilising the principles of trauma informed care in substance use disorders. Demonstrated excellence in completing psychosocial assessments, planning and intervention for complex patient/family presentations in the health context. Demonstrated ability to facilitate interagency meetings to coordinate care planning for complex patients. Demonstrated commitment and highly developed skills in working autonomously and within a team approach, alongside other disciplines and the broader community on alcohol and other drugs issues. Demonstrated ability to participate in and evaluate quality improvement initiatives, research, and service development processes. Demonstrated excellence in verbal, written and computer skills, and ability to manage a significant workload. Current NSW Driver's License and willingness to travel.
