Location:  Manuka, Canberra Employment Type:  Full-time, Temporary Salary:  $78,931 - $86,217 plus Superannuation Closing Date:  11.55pm, Monday 6 May 2024 Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) plays an integral role in education both in the ACT and NSW operating 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and 8 Early Learning Centres. We welcome applications from suitable candidates from all diversity groups to support our system of schools and early learning centres in delivering quality education outcomes for the students in our care.   About the Role As a member of the Facilities and Maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining school buildings, grounds, infrastructure and equipment to the highest possible standard to provide an efficient, effective and safe teaching and learning environment for staff and students. Benefits Positive and collaborative workplace culture  24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)  Up to 14 weeks paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)  Support for professional development and study opportunities  Key Responsibilities Undertake maintenance tasks as directed by the team Manage door hardware and lock systems in schools Respond to school requests for assistance with maintenance items Work with contractors to assist them in undertaking more extensive school maintenance works Drive the CE maintenance vehicle and trailer Attendance to remote and regional schools with potential to work away from home overnight at times Essentia l Criteria Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role with skill levels and required knowledge and training equivalent to the completion of a trade qualification in your area of expertise Sound computer literacy skills for email, ordering and managing the schools maintenance scheduling program Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation that relates to buildings, construction and Work Health and Safety Organised with a demonstrated ability to multi-task to ensure work is adequately prioritised and completed to a high standard within timeframes Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work while working as part of a team Qualifications Current working with children registration/clearance  Current driver’s license with a minimum light rigid license or willingness to acquire one is required to drive the College bus Qualified carpenter, or suitable similar trade and experience Elevated Work Platform license required Experience in driving a work van and standard box trailer Desirable Scissor lift operator White card, working at heights and asbestos certified Please refer to the position description for an in-depth detail regarding position duties, criteria and skill set required.
