Description : ABOUT THE ROLE : The Laundry Assistant’s role is to assist in ensuring laundry and linen services are of a sufficiently high standard and quality for our residents. No prior experience is required for this role; however, we do require an applicant who is competent with engaging in manual labour tasks and heavy lifting duties when required.

Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to :

  • Collecting, washing, folding, ironing, labelling, and returning residents’ personal clothing on a daily basis
  • Ensuring residents’ clothing is suitably marked and completed in a time efficient manner
  • Maintaining a high standard of personal and operational hygiene at all times
  • Identifying and reporting any equipment/operational failure issues
  • Ensuring all activities performed are in accordance with infection control requirements

Skills and Experiences : KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS :

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to move and lift heavy loads, conduct physical/hands-on work and repetitive movements of the body
  • Working rights within Australia
  • National Police Clearance less than 6 months old or NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Influenza Statement
  • COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Commitment to exceeding customer satisfaction and making an impact on residents’ quality of life
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fire and safety processes and manual handling guidelines
  • Effective interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated competence in time management and organisational skills, with an ability to perform within set timeframes
