After enabling JavaScript, you will need to close and re-open this browser window. $83,706 - $89,659 (+ 10% BDCP) + up to 15.4% superannuationBendigo - VIC, Canberra - ACT, Wollongong - NSW The RoleThe Data, Collection and Futures Branch has multiple vacant APS5 roles that will allow you contribute to Australia's national security.Geospatial Standards Officer – In this role within the GEOINT Data Office (GDO), you will support the development and implementation of geospatial data standards, critical to enabling advanced Defence capabilities. You will conduct GEOINT standards research, assessment and development and represent Defence interests at national and international GEOINT standards working groups.Data Operations Officer – In this role within the GDO, you will provide mission-critical support to AGO and partner agencies by managing and facilitating access to AGO’s enterprise data. You will engage with mission partners to explore innovative data access mechanisms and system enhancements, improving the overall speed of access to AGO’s mission critical data.Data Mobility Officer – In this role within the GDO, you will be responsible for moving mission-critical data and products between networks and security domains. You will provide timely and accurate advice to customers, supporting relationships with Defence and national intelligence community partner agencies. You will identify and communicate technical issues affecting AGO’s data mobility capability to internal and external stakeholders as required.GEOINT Collection Officer – In this role within the Collection Operations Directorate, you will support AGO’s mission-critical collection operations in support of intelligence and partner agency activities. You will develop and implement satellite imagery collection strategies in support of intelligence requirements. You will strive to innovate and develop new approaches to collection and collection capabilities, aligned to the teams’ mission.Data Analyst – In this role within the Data Innovation and Analytics Directorate (DIAD), you will leverage your understanding of statistics, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and programming. You will work as part of a team to develop and implement new tools and methodologies to answer specialist analytical intelligence requirements.Data Scientist – In this role within the DIAD, you will leverage your experience in Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML), data analysis and automation, assisting AGO to derive deeper insights from growing volumes of big data, and at a pace that enables decision advantage. In addition, they will be able to build and maintain productive working relationships with diverse range of stakeholders.Our collection directorates are looking for people with a keen interest in space-based capabilities, satellite imagery collection and/or intelligence collection, and have the aptitude to learn specialised aspects of space-based imagery collection.Our Data Innovation and Analytics Directorate is looking for people with strong data analysis/science skills, including the ability to use, manage, manipulate and analyse data to produce evidence-based conclusions. Ideal candidates will have intermediate to advanced python programming experience, with intermediate to advanced geospatial information systems experience.Our GEOINT Data Office ideal candidates will have experience in supporting the management and governance of data across medium/large organisations.
