Senior Catering Attendant

Melbourne Are you passionate about working for a service oriented team and assisting with the day to day operations of a busy kitchen? We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cooks (Senior Catering Attendant) to join our busy catering unit at Melbourne Airport on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in catering or food production in a fast paced environment working with a high attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Food meal plating, tray set and packing of food carts Ensure that presentation / weight specifications are adhered to Strictly follow menu specifications and comply with Food Safety / HACCP guidelines Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed and adhered to, maintaining a high standard of hygiene at all times Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure that time lines are met Understand and comply with internal policies and procedures Move and lift items manually Assist with and/or perform raw material preparation and cooking Perform tasks such as baking, grilling, oven and stove-top cooking Skilled use of knives and machinery Proficient in all airline equipment requirements, stowage and food presentations What do you need to be successful in securing this role? Demonstrated experience of working in a food environment Basic knife skills Fine motor skills Knowledge of HACCP / QSAI / Food Safety and OHS Prior experience with airline catering (highly regarded) and service oriented Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team Prior experience in a HALAL working environment and knowledge regarding segregation and separation of equipment highly regarded Strong communication skills Ability to work across a 7-day rotating roster As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
