About the role : As the Team Leader / Senior Clinician Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing advanced social work practice to referred patients and families, and supporting the clinical operations and leadership for the Social Work Rehabilitation Team based at Royal Talbot Site.

A regular day will see you work clinically with patients undertaking a range of advanced clinical interventions and imparting your specialist knowledge and expertise to others. Team Leader / Senior Clinician Social Worker you will clinically supervise and guide the practice of a social workers situated within a clinical stream of care. As a Grade 3 leader you will support the Social Work Department business operations and key Allied Health strategic priorities. An example of this may include: policy development, undertaking quality improvement projects, research and teaching, and allocated portfolios.

Key responsibilities will see you :

  • provide expert advice and secondary consultation within the clinical area, social work department and other areas as require
  • provide counselling services to patients and families
  • clinically lead and supervise social work staff
  • be responsible for NDIS portfolio work
  • work collaboratively with the Grade 4 site managers and leadership group
  • be an active member of the Social Work Department leadership group, support and contribute to the departments operations
  • undertake other senior duties such as quality improvement, research and teaching.

You must have :

  • A degree in Social Work and at least 7 years of experience

Ideally you'll have :

  • previously worked in a hospital setting
  • applied understanding of continuity of care and rehabilitation contexts
  • a working knowledge of NDIS and Aged Care Entry.
