Join our dynamic team as Kitchen Supervisor of our brand new, purpose built, Production Kitchen in Alexandria.   The Opportunity:   We're on the lookout for a passionate and innovative Kitchen Supervisor who can lead, mentor, and contribute to maintaining the high standards that define Black Star Pastry. Reporting directly to the Sous Chef, this role not only empowers you as a leader but allows you to contribute to the creative direction of our products.   This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a salary of $78,000 plus superannuation and $20/week transport allowance = total salary package of $87,620.   The Details: Take charge of kitchen functions under the guidance of the Sous Chef and Group Head Chef. Ensure impeccable quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation. Collaborate with the Sous Chef to organise the kitchen, train staff, and oversee daily operations. Stay on top of production, participating in product R&D and aligning with market trends. Maintain stringent food storage standards and efficient inventory management. Lead the kitchen team, fostering a positive work environment and effective communication. Proactively address challenges, solve problems, and contribute to the overall success of our shops. Train and support staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Handle customer complaints with professionalism, liaising with Front of House for optimal solutions. Create effective rosters aligned with business demands and budget requirements. Proactively make decisions that benefit all Black Star Pastry locations. Excellent communication skills and a knack for mentoring junior team members. Experience in food costing, COG's, waste minimisation, supplier liaisons, and wage budgets. Proactive problem-solving and positive staff management approach. Ability to thrive under pressure with excellent time management and organisational skills.
