THE OPPORTUNITY

Do you have a knack for welding and metalwork during school, or maybe you like spending your free time building and creating projects with your hands? If you think you’re up for a challenge and a job with variety, then a Boilermaking Apprenticeship could be what you’re after!

Our client Denton Engineering Group is a family-owned company located in Thornton, NSW . They specialise in Engineering, Hydraulics and Thermal Arc Spraying and supply quality products and machining services to the local region. Ideally, they are looking for a 1st year apprentice looking to start in the trade however they would be willing to talk to 2nd or 3rd apprentices looking to gain more experience and complete as well.

You will be involved in hands on activities, learn all aspects of Boilermaking including welding, fabrication, cutting and shaping of various metals while working in a workshop full of experienced tradespeople.

Duties include cleaning, maintaining machinery and components, assisting tradesman, measuring, and cutting steel, drilling, welding, gouging, grinding, fabrication, sandblasting, and painting.

Undertaking this four-year Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to become a qualified Boilermaker and earn your Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (MEM30319) .

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and be a team player
  • Good math’s skills
  • Prepared to do overtime when required
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills essential
  • Previous experience with metals either at school, work or at home preferable
  • Own transport & current vehicle license
