About the role

This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely dispatching of orders and maintaining a well-organised and safe warehouse environment. Reporting to the National Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Assistant contributes to the HMA business vision of achieving a long-term, market leading and profitable business.

The Warehouse Assistant reports on a day-to-day basis to the Warehouse Coordinator and National Logistics Manager and, as an integral member of a small office team, will be required to work with administration, finance and other sales personnel of HMA.

Key duties and responsibilities :

• Pack orders accurately ready for dispatch;
• Complete online and paper dispatch forms;
• Receive orders and ensure correct quantity and in good order;
• Unpack 20ft and 40ft containers;
• Ensure the warehouse is neat, clean and organized at all times;
• Consolidate pallets where appropriate;
• Identify and provide feedback on product packaging and improvements required to ensure customer satisfaction and that may improve warehouse efficiencies;
• Label items as required;
• Ensure adequate SA and interstate catalogues made;
• Ensure continued improvement for our Quality system.

Experience required :

• Excellent communication skills;
• Attention to detail;
• Ability to work alone;
• Forklift license;
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• Proficiency in the use online dispatch programs .
