With full time or part time options available (minimum 0.8 FTE), our 12-month program is coupled with an additional Consolidation Year to further support your transition to practice and develop your clinical skills and knowledge. Newcastle Private Hospital, where doing what you love means more. Newcastle Private Hospital is a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit. It also has a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. We are also an integrated, multidisciplinary cancer service, offering chemotherapy and immunotherapies for both inpatients and outpatients in our 9 chair infusion centre and dedicated 10 bed oncology ward. Enrolled Nurses at Healthscope perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of registered nurses. Some of the tasks that you may be responsible for, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, include caring for a group of patients, patient admission and discharge, medication administration, wound care, pre and post-operative care and liaising with medical staff and other health professionals. You will have the opportunity to continually develop, improve and promote best evidence-based practice.
