Noted for its environmental excellence, pristine waterways, and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef, the Bundaberg Region showcases everything that nature’s palette can create. About The OpportunityJoin us as an essential and valued member of a team committed to reducing the environmental impact. Your role as a Plant Operator Collection Services is to provide efficient waste management services in the local Community. In this role, you will be responsible for the collection of wheelie bins from residential and commercial premises, as well as, the distribution of wheelie bins for new services, replacement and repair of damaged wheelie bins. This role will require you to have the ability to work public holidays and outside of normal hours including weekends and On Call.About YouCurrent 'HR' licence ('HC' licence highly regarded)Current Forklift Operator TicketSubstantial experience in operating a truck mounted waste compaction unit and bin lifting mechanismDemonstrated experience in the operation of both single and dual axle trucks, including pre-start checks and essential basic maintenanceStrong knowledge of the region, with the ability to learn and follow predetermined collection routesGood customer service and conflict resolutions skillsKnowledge and understanding of State Government legislation relating to Department of Transport rules and regulationsDemonstrated literacy and numeracy skills to record and report information and follow written instructionsSound level use of computer skillsThe ability to work in a team environment to ensure objectives are successfully achieved Live and uphold the Council's valuesWhat we offerAn attractive hourly rateOpportunities for professional development training and study assistance to enhance your career progressionWork within a culture that promotes a healthy work-life balance and a friendly and supportive teamAn all-inclusive and diverse workplace culture where everyone feels valued
