Business Adviser - Office of General Counsel Your role At Allens, our business teams are also specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges. You'll be a part of our Office of General Counsel (OGC) team based in any of our Australian offices. The OGC is the firm's in-house legal team. It provides a range of legal advice and assists with the firm's management of conflicts issues and with ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and upholding best legal practice. As a Business Adviser in our OGC team you will be a key member of the team and provide a broad range of assistance across the OGC function including: ensuring that all compliance related tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner; monitoring and updating multiple firm registers that support the firm's functions and compliance; supporting internal policy development and compliance; providing expert input on firm initiatives; coordinating the certification process for lawyers including the renewal of Practicing Certificates, providing assistance with the admission process for the firm's law graduates and assisting with continuing professional development (CPD) queries; and assisting the lawyers in the OGC team in all aspects of their role. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.
