For more than fifty years, this Australian owned family business has led the industry with groundbreaking innovations.    Seeley International currently employs more than 500 staff and has significant growth plans, both in Australia and overseas, which will further cement its reputation as a leader in its field.   About the Role:   This an opportunity to join the Imagineering team – Seeley’s innovative research division - and hence be responsible for developing new and ‘over-the-horizon’ products, manufacturing systems, and technology such as IoT devices and embedded control systems. This is a full-time position.   We'll expect you to have:   A bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science from a nationally accredited program or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience. A desire to champion and drive challenging new and improvement-based projects relating to product, process, and factory. Experience with software engineering methodologies, integration patterns, network protocols, security, and databases. Knowledge of OSI model or the TCP/IP stack. Experience with modern programming and scripting languages (e.g. C++, Java, Python). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative. A positive work attitude and standards that don’t drop. A flair for creativity and innovation. It's great, but not required, if you have:   Experience in a similar role. Experience with Building Automation Systems. Linux knowledge and experience. Familiarity with Git or other version control tools. An understanding of open data communications protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, and similar. Basic electronics knowledge. SQL knowledge. Experience with or exposure to PLCs.
