We have an exciting positionavailable commencing beginning Term 2, Monday 24th April 2023 for aTrombone Specialist to join our close-knit music team in apermanent part-time opportunity 4 days per week. The work schedulewill be Tuesday – Friday with 1 day at our Malvern Campus and3 days at our Caulfield Campus. As an Instrumental Music Teacher,you’ll be responsible for teaching within the musicdepartment and the recruitment of instrumental students whilenurturing relationships with all music students across thedifferent campuses of the Caulfield Grammar School (CGS). You willprovide private trombone tuition, deliver Year 5 & 7Instrumental programs, as well as direct 3-4 different ensembles (amix of concert and stage bands). VIT registration is desiredhowever, non-VIT instrumental tutors will also be considered forthis opportunity. The successful applicant will have athorough knowledge of trombone, specific techniques andrepertoire. Key Responsibilities act as an inspirational teacher/tutor, performer and mentor who models the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours; direct 3-4 different ensembles (a mix of concert and stage bands); be a dynamic, innovative and motivating musician; demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students and staff; contribute to a highly motivated team; collaborate with the Head of Brass to contribute to the development of the whole school music program; formation of, and implementation of new ideas and teaching philosophies into the Year 5 and Year 7 Instrumental Programs; monitoring repairs, and, stocktake of low brass instruments; attendance at Friends of Music meetings when required SelectionCriteria current Working with Children check or VIT registration (VIT desired, not essential) highly developed interpersonal skills and teaching/tutoring experience within a school music programme ability to deliver group tuition to Year 5 and 7 Instrumental Programs ability to team teach within the ensemble setting experience in teaching/tutoring primary and secondary aged students experience in preparing students for all levels of AMEB examinations and VCE examinations ability to direct/conduct ensembles from beginner to advanced (desired, not essential) demonstrated planning and organisational experience both within an internal school environment and wider community demonstrated computer literacy high level of professional proficiency on trombone and the maintenance of these skills via continuing Professional Development Enquiries can be sent attention toSimon Brown, Head of Brass via: Please submit yourapplication by 11pm Sunday2nd April2023 via our website: Applications will be reviewed andscreened upon submission.
