St John of God South East Melbourne (SJGSEM) has a key leadership opportunity available for a committed and enthusiastic individual to commence as the Director Medical Services, PPT (32 hours per fortnight), reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide leadership and direction to Managers within the Services to ensure operational plans are implemented and targets met, while driving continuous improvement. St John of God South East Melbourne Hospitals (SEM) includes St John of God Berwick Hospital, St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital and St John of God Langmore Centre. An amalgamated governance framework and leadership structure overseeing the 3 hospitals ensures management capability, efficiencies, and improved delivery of care through the synergy of acute, subacute and mental health services. The Director of Medical Services (DMS) will provide strong inclusive leadership promoting the Vision, Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care (SJGHC). The DMS will provide dynamic, and responsive clinical leadership, assist and advise the Chief Executive Officer, support clinical governance and actively participate as a member of the South East Melbourne Hospitals Management Committee (SEM HMC). In this role you will provide leadership to Medical Services to foster a spirit of trust and communication between medical practitioner and other health or administrative professionals. You'll also champion clinical excellence in healthcare delivery, maintain the highest standards of medical practice that prioritize efficiency and patient-centered care. Your role involves offering expert advice to credentialed medical professionals, hospital executives, managers, and caregivers on delivering medical services. You're responsible for ensuring appropriate, processes, and committees are in place to ensure clinical performance, safety, quality, and risk management. You will hold registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA, with demonstrated leadership and management skills in acute health care including the achievement of high-quality patient outcomes, service satisfaction and operational efficiency. With senior leadership skills, you’ll have the proven ability to develop and meet strategic objectives, with experience in setting, monitoring and meeting budgeted financial and annual operational targets and benchmarks. ` To succeed you will have demonstrated skills and acumen in change management and ability to influence people and the proven ability to foster a service ethos culture that encourages sound patient care and stewardship, focussing on innovation and productivity improvements. As an integral part of our hospital's leadership team, you will demonstrate experience in the application of quality and clinical risk management within a hospital/health service environment.
