About the role: The Victoria Police Neighbourhood Policing model was launched in April 2022, which sees police working more closely with a range of neighbourhood stakeholders to identify and address issues that matter most to local communities. Neighbourhood Policing combines focused intelligence activities to inform problem solving partnerships with local communities and evidence-based responses to prevent and disrupt crime. The Project Director, Neighbourhood Policing role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced policing practitioner to shape frontline policing responses to crime and drive impactful training programs that contribute to enhanced safety outcomes and stronger partnerships between Victoria Police and the community. As Project Director, you will lead a review of existing training programs and engage with key stakeholders to develop new training. Training will span all ranks and several specialist roles, to support the implementation of the Victoria Police Neighbourhood Policing model and reposition intelligence-based operational tasking. The role will sit within the Specialist Programs Division in the People Development Command and be required to engage at senior levels of the organisation to drive transformation in intelligence and Neighbourhood Policing. Your duties will include: * Managing a capability analysis of intelligence and neighbourhood policing across all ranks and specialist roles to recommend enhancements to training delivery. * Leading change management activities in training delivery to support the successful implementation of intelligence, neighbourhood policing and evidence-based policing models. * Establishing and managing effective working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders to drive service delivery improvements. * Providing high level written and verbal expert and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders to enhance the implementation of intelligence, neighbourhood, and evidence-based policing models. As the successful applicant, you will have: * Proven experience in organisation-wide change and project management. * Demonstrated experience and expertise in the design and development of frameworks to support enhanced service delivery outcomes. * Advanced comprehensive in-depth knowledge and expertise in the application of intelligence and evidence-based policing models. * Prior experience working with Neighbourhood Policing to achieve crime reduction and safer outcomes for the community. * Exceptional negotiation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
