Proudly owned by Australian Farmers   McLean Farms is a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Pittsworth, 30 minutes Southwest of Toowoomba. Specialising in livestock and food production, the business is involved with a broad range of agricultural enterprises such as grain, compost and feed mill operations. We are currently seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join the team in a full-time capacity at our Grading and Packing Facility in Felton.   Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Conduct regular inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on MOBA grading machines and associated equipment to ensure accurate and efficient egg sorting. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, calibration, and adjustment of machinery to maintain optimal performance levels. Identify opportunities for equipment optimisation and efficiency improvements and implement upgrades or modifications as necessary. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions, diagnose issues, and execute timely repairs to minimise downtime and production disruptions. Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce the likelihood of future breakdowns. Support the maintenance team in conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with machinery operations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts replaced, and calibration adjustments. Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock levels for timely repairs and maintenance tasks. Provide operators and maintenance staff with training and guidance on proper equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols. Collaborate closely with the maintenance team, and production team to address equipment issues, implement improvement projects, and optimise production workflows. Program and configure programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to control the operation of machinery involved in egg grading and packing. Design, develop, and maintain HMI interfaces for operators to monitor and control egg grading and packing machinery. Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and vendors to ensure seamless integration of automated components and systems into existing machinery and workflows. To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes: Bachelor’s degree qualification or 5+ years relevant professional experience. Demonstrated experience with Programmable logic controller (PLC) operation. Demonstrated experience in conducting maintenance on complex machinery. Previous experience developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules. Strong communication skills, ability to write reports and correspondence, ability to speak clearly and effectively with internal and external contacts. Experience in planning, organising, prioritising, and coordinating work in a changing environment. Ability to use a range of computer applications.
