As a Support Worker, you will be trained to support people with complex disabilities to live independently, achieve their goals and provide support to enable them to have a positive impact in their local communities.    The position As a support worker at Centacare you will be working within the community and be responsible for supporting the day-to-day needs of our clients such as providing personal care, meal preparation, domestic assistance (including light household cleaning), social support, transport, and personal development. You’ll get to know your clients well, understanding their needs, preferences and aspirations, so you can support them to achieve what’s important to them.   Our goal is provide our clients with high quality, individualised support. We offer innovative PBSP support plans with a particular focus on person centred caring, assisting our clients to meet their goals and aspirations and live their best life. We're looking for people who have experience in supporting people with challenging behaviour and want to make a difference in the lives of others. We currently have positions available supporting male clients in our supported accommodation services in Southport and Elanora.   Certificate III Individual Support Aged Care/Disability or studying towards the qualification highly regarded for these positions.    What makes a great Support Worker? Be eligible to work in Australia Current "C" class Qld driver's licence A roadworthy, registered and insured vehicle Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or current Yellow Card) National Police check A First Aid/CPR Certificate NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate “Quality, Safety and You” How much will you get paid? You will be paid in accordance with our Collective Agreement with a pay rate between $29.0625 - $30.2160/hr depending on your qualifications and previous experience. There are additional penalty rates for weekends, overnights and public holidays.  Sleepover allowances start at $101.30 for a weekday sleepover to $126.63 for a weekend sleepover. Centacare has standards of conduct for employees and volunteers to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Our commitment to these standards requires that we conduct background referencing for all persons who will engage in direct and regular involvement with children, young people and/or vulnerable.
