About the role An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced and qualified individual to take on a case management role within the North Eastern Melbourne Area team. The role will be responsible for providing individually tailored support to disengaged learners within the context of their families, whilst developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across a range of sectors. Part time 9 months role (0.8 EFT). Annual salary of $82,043 (pro rata) + super + salary packaging. What Jesuit Social Services can offer you An organisation that lives its values, through its day to day work A welcoming and supportive relational environment A comprehensive Induction and Orientation program Ongoing training and development related to your role Employee assistance program A competitive salary plus salary packaging benefits Generous leave About you This role will suit a candidate with the following skills and experience: Tertiary qualification/s and/or relevant experience in field An understanding of adolescent development and the factors that can contribute to a young person’s disengagement from learning.  Knowledge and experience in appropriate interventions/skills required to support children, young people and families from vulnerable, culturally diverse and marginalised communities and a clear understanding of case management, intensive support, crisis intervention and assertive outreach.  Capacity to work with a high degree of cultural competency and understanding of culturally appropriate service delivery in relation to Aboriginal young people, their families and communities, and in relation to CALD young people, their families and communities.  Experience working with families and ability to use a range of strategies around family issues such as family violence, family breakdown and school withdrawal. About the program Navigator is a program funded by the Department of Education which aims to support disengaged learners aged 12 to 17 years old to re-engage with an education or training pathway. Jesuit Social Services delivers Navigator in Hume Merri-bek, Brimbank Melton, North Eastern Melbourne Areas and Inner Eastern Melbourne areas in partnership with the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency and works closely with local schools, services and the regional Department of Education office.
