Disability Support Worker/community Support Worker

Skillset required :

  • Manual handling
  • Experience with mental health and challenging behaviour

Mandatory NDIS Requirements :

  • First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Manual Handling certificate.
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Valid Driver’s License and comprehensive car insurance.

The shift may include :

  • Personal care
  • Community access (transport to appointments and/or shopping)
  • Social Support
  • Meal preparation and medication assistance
  • General domestic tasks

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ensure that the AHS Code of Conduct is adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures, and work practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and build collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task and work flexibly in responding to various needs of the customer.
  • Proven ability in case of management or in undertaking GP management plans.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise & manage day-to-day activities in an efficient manner.

Skills & competencies :

  • Has experience and knowledge using hoists, and assisted a customer in a wheelchair.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or its equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Ability to follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support.
  • Experience with high-intensity care is highly desirable.
