The Suburban Connect consortium, comprising CPB Contractors, ACCIONA and Ghella, have been selected by the Victorian Government to deliver the first major tunnelling package on the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East project.The package includes construction of a 16-kilometre section of the project’s twin tunnels, including tunnelling between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley, 55 safety cross passages between the tunnels, station boxes at Clayton and Monash and the construction of portals – the entrances and exits to the tunnels – at the stabling facility.About the Opportunity:Join our team as Senior Commercial Manager. You'll be the key to effectively driving the commercial success of this unique project!The key responsibilities of the role include: Ensuring Project Managers, Commercial Leads and all relevant project staff understand and comply with commercial and procurement requirements in our Head contract and Subcontracts.Ensure the site based teams have a clear procurement plan, schedule and are executing this in partnership with the Central Procurement team.Ensure the Commercial team and broader project teams are complying with the procurement policy, procedure and other key governance processesProvide guidance and advice alongside the Central procurement team on procurement matters including risk allocation under the proposed procurement strategiesWork in partnership with the central procurement team and Procurement committee ensuring where required procurement strategies are agreed and approved in accordance with the Procurement PolicyManaging the budget by overseeing expenditure, conducting regular reviews against plan and budget, and taking corrective actions as required. We are looking for someone with: Bachelor degree or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or other associated disciplines.Relevant experience in a commercial management role on a major civil project. Advanced skills in procedures for project contract administration, general business administration and project management. Understand scope of works for the project and the supply chain market.Skill in quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and development of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects. Proven ability to lead, delegate, hold the team accountable and to intervene when required.
