About the Role: Davies Stewart are partnering with their client team at a leading technical consulting firm, who are dedicated to environmental solutions. The National Technical Manager will serve as a senior leader within the organization, overseeing the technical consultancy department on a national scale. Reporting directly to the executive general manager, this role requires extensive experience as a Principal Scientist/Engineer, along with proven management expertise and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the efficient delivery of projects, managing the P&L of the entire technical consultancy, and fostering growth and innovation within the team. Culture & Benefits: National organisation Permanent full-time role Supportive work environment Chance to contribute to meaningful projects Duties: Utilise your extensive experience as a Principal Scientist/Engineer to oversee and ensure the successful delivery of projects nationwide. Take ownership of project management responsibilities, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management. Collaborate closely with internal teams to maintain compliance with client requirements and company processes. Provide guidance and support to project managers, ensuring project objectives are achieved while maintaining profitability. Lead by example in maintaining high standards of technical excellence and quality assurance. Oversee technical review processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Maintain a thorough understanding of emerging technologies and industry best practices, driving innovation within the technical consultancy department. Communicate effectively both internally and externally, representing the company professionally and ethically. Attend meetings prepared and punctually, providing insightful contributions and strategic guidance. Complete financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Stay updated on industry trends, legislative changes, and emerging technologies, sharing knowledge and insights with the team. Utilise your commercial understanding and acumen to identify and pursue new business opportunities nationwide. Generate quotes and proposals for both existing and prospective clients, ensuring alignment with company objectives and profitability targets. Cultivate and nurture client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and driving customer satisfaction and retention. Financial Management and P&L Responsibility: Take financial responsibility for the P&L of the entire technical consultancy department, monitoring financial performance and implementing strategies to optimise profitability. Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards. Uphold company values and promote a culture of compliance with OH&S and environmental policies. Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field Project management experience, preferably in environmental consulting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively Proven leadership abilities and a collaborative approach to teamwork Are you passionate about environmental conservation and possess exceptional project management skills?
