Laboratory Technician (Solid Splitting)

Job DescriptionFull time permanentLocation based in Dandenong SouthMonday - Friday, 7.00 am - 3.00 pmThe Laboratory Technician (Solid Splitting) is responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately received, logged, prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.Reporting to the Supervisor, key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Receiving and logging in samples accurately.Preparing samples for analysis by mixing, blending and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.Performing routine analysis, validations and project work in an efficient and effective manner.Ensuring external and internal clients’ requirements are met / exceeded.Ensuring efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.Operating, calibrating and maintaining equipment/instruments as required.Performing quality control tests.QualificationsCertificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.About YouTo be successful for this position, you will need to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics:Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.Experience working in a fast paced environment.Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.Strong attention to detail.Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.On the job training will be provided, along with the use of our systems and programs.
