Fitting, Machining & Computer Numerical Control (CNC) - Randstad

Are you an experienced mechanical fitter looking to expand your skills? This role will see you working at Garden Island Defence Precinct ensuring naval and commercial ships are repaired and serviced to meet the quality and safety standards required. The Role Your role will involve the following, but not limited to; Have the ability to work to drawings – manufacturing drawing, specifications and MIL-STD. Familiar with general workshop machinery and their operation, Engineering gauging equipment. Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a multi resources team. Strip and removal of equipment. Survey and repair of equipment. Repair and overhaul of equipment. Testing of repaired equipment. Installation of equipment. Assist in STW of equipment. Fault Diagnosing of equipment. Have worked within confined spaces or willing to undertake the appropriate training. Essential Experience & Qualifications You will be required to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance. To be successful for the role you will have: Extensive experience within ship building industry preferable or alternatively other heavy engineering fields ie, Mining, Marine, Power Stations, Gas Lines or Bridges Appropriate trade qualifications. Fitter or Fitter/Machinist Sound knowledge in commercial safety requirements and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. Experience in shaft aligning. Desirable Experience and licenses Preferred Industrial Hydraulic Post or Industrial Pneumatics Post Trade.
