Rottnest Express is part of the Journey Beyond Group and is the leading operator of marine transfers to and from the stunning Rottnest Island. In addition to ferry services, Rottnest Express specialises in extended stay and day tour packages (both inbound and domestic), as well as specialist adventure tours offering in and around the Island. ABOUT THE ROLE The Grounds and Jetty Hands are responsible for providing vessel support to the on-water teams and, the day-to-day operations and organisation of the Northport and B Shed, Fremantle grounds and jetties. This is a full-time role with multiple positions available. As a Grounds Hand, you are the 'face' of Rottnest Express and first point of contact for most customers, your role is key to ensuring a positive experience for our guests, and involves: Assisting with the loading and unloading of bicycles and luggage onto and off of the vessels Delivering on shore vessel support through jetty setup, guest queue management and vessel berthing/departure procedures Assist guests with their luggage, while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their safety and comfort Coordination of bike fleet, ensuring adequate numbers are available to suit operational requirements Ensure bikes and special equipment are loaded on each vessel as per bookings and operational requirements Provide support to on-water team and overall operation to ensure operations schedules and objectives are met    Adhering to REX operational safety and marine procedures and protocols ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate about the experiences Rottnest Express offer, as well as: Be competent in Microsoft Office, Excel is desirable Have an eye for detail and ability to trouble shoot challenges as they arise Ability to work well in a busy and physically demanding environment with a positive attitude towards your team and customers Customer Service, focus with ability to anticipate customer needs and use initiative Be able to effectively communicate with all customers and team members Have a reliable, flexible and honest approach to work Willing to work a wide range of hours over a 7 day roster, including public holidays Drivers Licence and own transport required If this sounds like the opportunity for you have been waiting for, apply now!
