The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for the oversight and management of regular and breakdown maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Our client is offering a Permanent Position based in the western suburbs position salary will be based on experience $115k - $130k Role Requirements: Manage and coordinate works and contracts performed by external vendors and contractors Manage and record daily activity for maintenance dept. Manage overall accuracy and participation in record keeping of Maintenance Register (via excel or Smartsheet) Prepare work load and distribute evenly, activities, tasks, and projects for maintenance team with consideration to ability and shift presence Ensure maintenance filters and electrician(s) have work load / tasks prepared ahead of shift commencement Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair costs on all assets Where large purchases are necessary in conjunction with Business Unit or Operations Manager assist with preparation feasibility reports for costing options Contribute to the planning, managing, and controlling the maintenance budget(s) In liaison with Business Unit or Operations Manager prepare detailed month end reports on Repair and Maintenance Costs against machinery and equipment Maintenance of repair and maintenance costs against register of capital equipment and other machinery Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts to minimize delays and production non-availability. About You: Certificate III In Engineering or Higher  Good Electrical Knowledge  Electrical license - Disconnect Reconnect License or willing to obtain  Reo Experience - Desirable but not a game changer  Quality Assuranc e Maintain and establish a high degree of quality awareness ensuring quality of all documentation, schedules and communication. Monitor quality performance in accordance with company’s quality procedures and contractual obligations. Identify and initiate opportunities for quality improvements throughout the business development and project management process. Proficient in interpreting and using key performance and financial data to positively impact the operations and success of the business. Guidance Provide advice to managers and supervisors to assist with regulatory compliance and maintenance of safe systems of work Assist in the roll out and maintenance Risk Assessments to all VIC business units With manufacturing equipment and machinery in mind foster and develop a safe working culture across all VIC business units As part of the management team actively participate in WH&S activities Project Coordination Manage specialist projects involving out of the ordinary movements, rearrangements or equipment restructure Work alongside Management and WHS Team on wholesale risk prevention and safety initiatives Provide feedback and insight on proposed production processes and work flows Assist with hazard management and identification, where possible develop and deliver training tools that aid safe working environment Innovation Improve equipment performance and processes Ensure optimal performance of equipment and parts Develop new techniques to repair and/or install equipment Troubleshoot basic system errors, and where possible, advise recovery solutions.
