The Opportunity Come and discover the opportunity to join our Analytical Chemistry and Air Quality team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a  Laboratory Supervisor and Coordinator . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers. The Analytical Chemistry and Air Quality team are responsible for all areas of environmental sample testing management at the Port Kembla manufacturing facility. Leading at team of ten Analysts and Project Support Officers you will proactively deliver safety, performance and development activities. What Will You Do? You will demonstrate your leadership skills and support your team, whilst building effective relationships, both internally and externally you will: grow and mentor your team to develop and enhance their technical capability ensure all testing methodology and routine maintenance is performed to our laboratory accreditation standards Coordinate and maintain schedules for routine and non-routine sampling activities coordinate laboratory maintenance and improvements and take any necessary corrective actions Deliver continuous improvement outcomes in the supply of sampling and testing services successfully contribute to a safe working environment More About You With your leadership experience, you’ll have the ability to make calculated decisions while working in a fast-paced environment. You will also have:  a tertiary qualification in science and applied sciences (majoring in chemistry); Front line leadership experience. a deep understanding of laboratory practices, EPA environmental licences and plant processes experience and knowledge in relation to the duties of the Analysis and Compliance Testing Team the capability to perform complex tasks and continuous improvement projects in a fast paced environment the ability to deliver outcomes through productive relationships Why BlueScope As BlueScope continues to go from strength to strength, a career with us provides you with the opportunity to grow and be rewarded.
