What you'll be doing The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’ . To work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting and provide a high quality service to clients and families in the Inpatient Mental health Unit. Complete bio- psychosocial assessments and interventions with relation to;family issues, accommodation issues, income and other issues, violence issues, child protection, domestic violence, prevention of sexual assault/abuse and elder abuse. Provide appropriate interventions in collaboration with the treating team. Working collaboratively with the Professional Head of Social Work in the provision of a high quality social work service. E mployment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing. All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.  A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements. In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant. Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position. Understanding of both the Mental Health and Guardianship Acts and their applicability to this role. Demonstrated ability to provide effective and a broad range of Social Worker interventions within an acute setting. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of recovery focused care and principles within an acute mental health setting. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated skills in computer literacy. Current NSW Drivers Licence.
