ABOUT THE ROLE We are excited to welcome a passionate and collaborative AAMI Park & Sports field Coordinator to the MOPT team.  As the AAMI Park & Sports field Coordinator you will play a crucial role in driving the delivery of horticulture and sports turf services, ensuring that M&OP has the world-class grounds and facilities it needs to deliver events and activate our Precinct. With a focus on our annual horticulture and sports turf program, team leadership, and collaboration you will work with key stakeholders to deliver outstanding outcomes that have a lasting impact.  The Melbourne & Olympic Parks precinct is home to six of Melbourne’s premier venues; Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, John Cain Arena, AAMI Park, Kia Arena and CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park, an array of other professional sporting and administrative facilities, as well as recreational spaces, including the National Tennis Centre, two show courts, 35 outdoor tennis courts, six indoor tennis courts, Tennis HQ, Olympic Park Oval, Gosch’s Paddock and the AIA Centre (Collingwood Football and Netball Club) - all of which form the scope of the Horticulture & Sports Ground team’s remit. You will work hand in hand with tenant, venue and infrastructure teams to manage and enhance the sports facilities and surrounding greenspaces. Here are some of the things you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in:  Sports Turf Management •    Lead sports turf management program across all venue playing surfaces •    Lead the turf replacement program to ensure it is consistently at a high standard Operational Planning   •    Prepare and plan the annual site maintenance programs •    Participate in turf replacement planning and programming to ensure AAMI Park is presented in the best possible condition year round. •    Management of service providers to ensure best practices are maintained with a constant focus on improvements and adjusting to industry trends. •    Drive best practices around sustainability and   environmental standards •    Delivery of world class precinct for all events by driving the sports turf program through collaboration with the sports turf managers. Set high standards when delivering the maintenance program, providing high quality training surfaces for NRL, ARU,FFA and AFL users. Best Practice Leadership •    Drive operational excellence, identifying opportunities for improvement for M&OP to be leaders both in what we do and how we do it. •    Lead a high performing team (day to day management by providing leadership and coaching). •    Ensuring that safety is at the forefront  •    Provide direction and support to direct reports to ensure outcomes are in line with business plan and are executed. •    Ensure achievement and development plans are in place for all team members. •    Support and contribute to department budgetary process including planning and forecasting for the Financial Year ahead. •    Engages leaders and staff from across the organisation in continuous improvement, building a culture of shared endeavor to a common goal. Strategic Planning  •    Support in developing a long-term strategy as it relates to Horticulture & Sports Turf management at M&OP  •    Contribute to the broad M&OP strategic planning in the Horticulture and Sports Turf management area of expertise to ensure the business delivers on its purpose and commitments •    Ensuring that safety is at the forefront, assisting in the implementation and ongoing improvement of all OHS requirements within the precinct WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE A passion for the finer details With a keen eye for detail, you bring creative and innovative thinking when setting a high performance and delivery standards. Whether it is a client on the implementation of a game-changing venue upgrade, longer term visioning of a master plan design or a guest coming to see their favourite artist at one of our venues - you consider their experience at every aspect of your role.  Prerequisites •    Diploma in Horticulture (Sports turf) •    At least 5 years’ experience in managing elite sports fields surfaces.  •    Sports turf Stadium experience  •    Experience in managing staff.
